Heat flared low in her body at his touch. Lydia shivered as she looked up at him. A trick of the moonlight made his teeth appear sharp and deadly. A gasp tore from her throat as he lunged forward. For a moment it seemed he was going to bite her.

She wanted him to.

Instead, his lips caressed her neck as he whispered, “Then the wolf swallowed her whole.”

Liquid tremors wracked her form. She reached up to cling to his shoulders, to beg for more. Vincent stepped back, leaving her to grasp at the air.

Shielding her embarrassment at her reaction, she managed a small giggle. He’d only been telling a story, after all. “In the version my mother told me, the girl got away.”

“Yes, that would be best.” His voice sounded rough. “She should get away.”

A strangled gasp caught in her throat at his duplicity. It had all been part of the game! “You…you…”

He held up a hand. “Now slap me with your fan in retaliation for taking such liberties.”

Reeling in outrage, she fumbled in the pockets of her cloak for the ineffectual weapon.

Vincent shrugged, undaunted at her ire. “That is why you should keep your fan at the ready.”

Seizing the bundle of cloth-covered sticks, she smacked him soundly on the arm, much harder than Miss Hobson had instructed.

“You are lucky I did not have my gun,” she hissed. How could he?

To her vexation, he chuckled. “No, a kiss such as that, indiscreet as it was, is hardly a dueling offense.” His eyes narrowed, and he stalked closer. Lydia thought of the time he’d told her the story of the wolf. Vincent looked just as predatory as he had that night. “However, if a man kisses you like this…”

With lightning speed, he seized her, pulling her against his body as his lips came down on hers with brutal force. One hand ruthlessly gripped the nape of her neck, while the other grasped her bottom, urging her hips against his. Though it was still part of the game, Lydia was unable to prevent herself from responding. Molten desire flooded her body, flaring brightest within her core. His mouth ravaged hers, his tongue darted in, sliding across hers, coaxing it to tangle with his in a primal dance.

A low moan escaped her throat as she ground her body against him. His hardness pressed, insistent upon her most secret place, making her ache for something only he could give.

With a low growl, he broke away and thrust her from him. His breath came in harsh gasps. “If a man kisses you…like that,” he said roughly, “then I shall see him dead.”

Very fun thinking about the 2 modern AUs of my HOTD OC fic, because I can say whatever I want that makes the Royce siblings sound cool, but it will never erase the fact they are the nepo babies to end all nepo babies. Their old money mom is the head of a company that she inherited from her dad, their dad is the family burnout from a long line of politicians & he keeps getting jobs because his brother is the president/king/whatever Westeros has in this modern AU. Only Yorick would naturally have an employable skillset, & they all get well paying jobs/success. It is infinitely funny to me when I think about it in terms of the mechanics of how they all get where they're going

thinks about time lord biting again with eleven & clara. thinking about eleven nipping victorian!clara because he got overexcited, regretting it, and then trying to hold onto the fact that he did it and nothing bad happened yet and maybe she can come with him- oops. eleven trying so hard for so long to keep it to himself when he finds clara again. lets her in but never lets her close enough. but thinking about it, always.

and most of all, imagining eleven finally breaking, and when clara lets him bite her, it’s all that fresh loss and need to keep her safe and burgeoning trust and restraint falling away at once and- he bites too hard. apologizing to clara as he patches her up. it leaves a scar. and scars don’t regenerate. her first doctor, dug into her skin even after he’s gone. permanent.

…and now i’m thinking about twelve tentatively placing his teeth against that scar, pulling away, and giving clara a brief nip somewhere else, somewhere safer. (and clara, annoyed, dragging him in so that she can bite him back hard. even more annoyed when he won’t scar the way she wants him to, the way she did for him, the way he’d forever have to keep and remember.)

i don’t care that rhaenyra’s oldest are illegitimate not bc i’m a targ stan who thinks she can do no wrong but because legitimacy is a social construct that does nothing more than enforce the patriarchy and class system, and rhaenyra having kids out of wedlock with a man she is consenting to sex with is fine, actually, and if you’re hung up on that it is my opinion that you are clinging to the rules of propriety and patriarchy when analyzing her because you think she should be punished for having sex outside marriage and not like, all the things she actually does that are morally wrong, which is like, textbook misogyny.

“but the lords” so the thing is i don’t give a shit if the lords think she’s a slut. i understand the time period bc not only am i not stupid, i also understand that it is still a big issue in many communities for mothers to have children out of wedlock. i am saying i do not care because it’s a fake issue the way “brienne can’t really be a knight because she’s a woman” and “sansa can’t rule winterfell when she has true born younger brothers” or whatever else. legitimacy is a tool of the patriarchy, of colonialism irl, of classism, and the argument “rhaenyra is a bad person for having children out of wedlock when she knew that would put them in danger” is stupid bc legitimacy doesn’t fucking matter and neither does marriage.

may be time to bite the bullet with this news. mayhaps will take the time to do some important rl stuff at the same time so i can just focus in on whenever alan is doing something onscreen
